Basalt Studio runs 8 sites. Every SEO change we make to them is logged here with its Search Console numbers at 2, 4 and 8 weeks. Case studies go up when they have 8 weeks of numbers. No rounding up, bad weeks included.

Search Console is not verified on any of our sites yet, so there are no click or impression numbers to show. Verification is the first step of the plan; the first numbers appear here after it. Until then this page shows what we changed and the baseline we started from.

Baseline
Technical baseline of our 8 sites
Checked on 19 Oct 2026 from each home page, robots.txt, sitemap.xml and llms.txt. All 8 sitemaps returned 200, no site blocked GPTBot, ClaudeBot or PerplexityBot, none had llms.txt, and only the studio site’s privacy pages used hreflang.

First audit
We audit ourselves first
Before we take a client, we run every Outcrop check on Basalt’s own eight live sites. On 19 October 2026 our audit engine crawled 962 pages across them in about three minutes. Every page answered, every site had a sitemap and robots.txt, and none blocked search engines or AI crawlers.
It also found what we had missed. None of the eight sites had an llms.txt file. One site linked to its own pages with tracking tags on 51 pages, which creates duplicate addresses for the same page. A job board had 65 of its 213 job pages without structured data. On a coffee catalogue, 145 of the 300 pages we crawled had descriptions too long to show in full. We fixed what we could the same day; the before and after is below.

Fixed the same day: 14 findings down to 2
We ran the full Outcrop playbook on our own sites, then ran the audit again in the same sample mode. Across the six sites re-checked so far, the automated findings went from 14 to 2. All six now have an llms.txt and name the same company, Basalt Studio, in their structured data. KahveDrop’s fixes are merged and go live with its next nightly deploy; Lull’s are ready and not merged yet.

Findings here are kinds of problem per site from a sampled run, so they are not comparable with the page counts in the first audit above. Rankings and clicks are a separate question; those numbers come from Search Console.
AI search, 19 Oct 2026
Do AI assistants name our products? Mostly not yet.
We asked 9 questions the way a customer would, through web search, which is what ChatGPT search, Claude and Perplexity answer from. One of our products was named: ByeWall, and only through its Firefox Add-ons listing. The answers lean on directories such as AlternativeTo, so listings are the gap the site fixes cannot close. We ask the same 9 questions again on 19 November 2026 and will post the result here. Answers vary from run to run, so this is not a ranking.
